Caron is an organization which dedicated to provide an enlightened and caring treatment for all those who are affected by alcoholism and other drugs addiction. It was founded in 1957 by Reading industrialist and recovering alcoholic, Richard J. Caron, and his wife, Catherine, who opened their home to people needing shelter and help with recovery. The Caron is not motivated not for profit but to provide innovative and comprehensive treatment services for drug addicts and help them to find a new way of life. They offer a full spectrum of gender- specific chemical dependency treatment programs to meet the need of each one from youngsters to elder, from last sixth decade by providing quality services. Caron treat people with chemical addiction like alcohol, drugs such as heroin, cocaine, marijuana and proscription medicines and tobacco. It gives the facilities of medical detoxification, gender-separate primary rehabilitation, deterioration treatment and extensive care for elders and youngsters, outpatient care, educational programs for family members. It also helps those whose lives have been impacted by addiction of drugs. There is a life enrichment workshop for persons in all stages of addiction, and student assistance services.

The training at Caron is given by experts who are well recognizable with all chemical addictions – including alcohol, cocaine, crack, ecstasy, hallucinogens, heroin, inhalants, marijuana, methamphetamines, over-the-counter and prescription medications, stimulants and steroids.
